Maintenance Guidance

Our Cotswold leather is handmade using traditional and historical methods. Each one whole Cowhide is waxed, oiled and polished to achieve an unusually soft, velvety feel. thePolished surfaces are enhanced with dramatic highs and lows and natural markings, and Care instructionleather softens with age and use, creating a slight wear that is a sign of quality leather.Clean with a vacuum cleaner or brush. Do not use polishes, preservatives or leather soaps. Immediately dab the spilled liquid with a soft cloth. Leather is a natural product. Texture and color will be slightly different due to hiding. Montonone leather, we use top grade cow head layer leather, semisiline Montonone leather is hand tanned using time-honored traditional tanning methods and processed for nearly three days to achieve a warm, matte finish. The purity of the water used in the time-consuming process gives the leather a soft, skin-like feel. Layers of wax are manually applied to the leather and then lightly polished to give it a subtle highlight and dark light to get a true age look. Over time and wear, leather will develop a lighter sheen and a softer, softer hand. Variations in color and texture make each piece unique.
